verse 001. the standard expedition 33 verse. sciel joins gustave and the others with the intent of stopping the paintress once and for all. along the way friends and foes are made alike, and harrowing truths about her world are revealed.verse 002. post "a life to paint". the canvas lives on thanks to maelle. her husband is brought back to life and sciel is happy, despite an underlying feeling of unease.verse 003. post "a life to love". through some unforeseen deus ex machina sciel ends up in the real world with the dessendre family and the expedition.verse 004. standard modern verse. whether or not the fantastical elements are still present is dependent on writing partner and the vibe of the verse.

A teasing smile masks a painful past. sciel is a consistent warming presence, filled with wanderlust & whimsy. she is grounded in spite of her infectious optimism, aware the brutality of the gommage.she is a woman at peace with the possibility of her own death, especially at the hands of the expedition; it's a familiar concept to her, one she will greet with open arms.somewhat secretive, she hides behind her easy going nature, hoping that no one will see through the cracks in her façade. she will tell you when she feels ready, and not a moment before; not that it'll stop her from trying to pry secrets from her friends.

☾ the headcanons

contrary to what the game shows, i am of the belief that sciel would not be so quick to ask for her husband to be resurrected. in the immediate aftermath, she lives in bliss, but as time marches on and the unshaking feeling of wrongness sets in, it's a decision she begins to regret. he's long dead and buried, preserved by his memories.
